Located in a narrow canyon at the mouth of Plummer Creek, Heyburn State Park is the oldest park in the Pacific Northwest. The Trail of the Coeur d’Alenes, a 72-mile paved bike trail, runs right through Heyburn State Park. Bike or walk the 3,100-foot trestle bridge across the St. Joe River to the other side of Lake Coeur d’Alene. Or explore towering forests of ponderosa and white pines that give way to flower-filled meadows and placid waters.
