Southwest Idaho’s ideal grape-growing conditions have led to the designation of two American Viticultural Areas in this part of the state—so put a winery tour on your short list or check out one of the local breweries after a day of play. Drop a line in the region’s many lakes and rivers, climb a sand dune at Bruneau Dunes State Park or test your surfing skills at Boise’s Whitewater Park. Explore Boise’s rich Basque heritage, stroll through the Idaho State Museum and visit museums and galleries around the area. In the evening, watch a live performance at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, catch an outdoor concert, or enjoy any of the numerous performing arts ensembles in Southwest Idaho.
