Much like Stanley, Idaho City is tucked away deep in the Gem State wilderness surrounded by rivers and staggering mountains. What was once the largest town in the Northwest, is now a hub for some of the best fishing in the Gem State. Anglers who journey here have a long list of lakes to choose from when looking to reel in that massive trophy fish. There are 48 lakes nearby, including Karney Lakes, Home Lake, Siphon Lakes, North Star Lake, Little Roaring River Lake and Big Roaring River Lake. If you’d rather cast into a river, creek, or stream, you have over 800 options within 50 km to choose from. Some of the most popular are Bear Run, Spanish Fork, Pine Creek, Bannock Creek, Granite Creek, Elk Creek, Hoodoo Creek, Deer Creek, Dry Creek and Sawmill Creek.
