The Old West comes alive at Parma’s Old Fort Boise Replica and Museum. Constructed by the Hudson’s Bay Company in 1834 as competition for nearby Fort Hall, Old Fort Boise became an important supply post along the Oregon Trail. The fort was abandoned, however, in 1854 after severe flooding and increased skirmishes with area Native Americans. In 1863, a new Fort Boise was constructed in present day Boise, but a replica of the first fort can still be found near the original site.
