Calling all snow junkies, snow bunnies, first-time adventurers and seasoned thrill seekers! Get your fill of Idaho powder at any of Idaho’s 17 Park N’ Ski areas for FREE on January 9th.

This freebie day means you can explore more than 180 miles of groomed and un-groomed trails across the state on your snowshoes or cross country skis at no cost (on any other day a 3-day permit will cost you $7.50). As an added bonus, there will also be special events, demos and activities taking place at various Park N’ Ski sites that day.

At the Idaho City Park N’ Ski area for example, you’ll be able to not only test out the snow but also check out a couple of yurts during an open house. Two of the six yurts in the Idaho City area (Rocky Ridge yurt and the Whispering Pines yurt) will be open from 9 a.m.  – 4 p.m. for you to peruse. Keep in mind, once you park at the appropriate trail head you’ll have to ski or snowshoe in to the yurts, but don’t worry, hot chocolate will be waiting.

If January 9th doesn’t fit into your schedule, don’t worry. You can still enjoy these amazing trails at your leisure this winter by purchasing a permit online.
