Region

Schweitzer, the largest ski resort in Idaho, receives an average of 300 inches of annual snowfall and is home to the state’s third-highest vertical drop at 2,400 feet. Skiers and boarders can explore three terrain parks, 2,900 acres of skiable terrain and 92 designated runs (10% are green, while 50% of the terrain is either advanced or expert). Plus, Nordic and snowshoe trails, backcountry snowmobiling and snowcat excursions, tree skiing, twilight skiing and snow tubing keep the blood pumping all winter long.

The adventure continues in the summer. Whether you’re a downhill junky, cross-country fanatic, or just looking for a fun outing, mountain bikers will enjoy 20 miles of trails amid stunning views. Scenic chairlift rides, guided e-bike rides, hiking and horseback rides round out Schweitzer’s summer fun.
