Wallace Area

Wallace has long been famous as the "Silver Capital of the World" with 1.2 billion ounces of silver produced in Shoshone county since 1884. Silver mining is still a big part of the economy, but today it is carried out in total harmony with a pristine mountain environment that attracts outdoor recreation enthusiasts from around the world.  Wallace is known for the fact that every downtown building is on the National Register of Historic Places and also has the notable distinction of being officially declared the Center of the Universe.

White Cloud Outfitters

White Cloud Outfitters, based out of Challis, offers horseback riding trips ranging from a full day to seven days. Single-day trip routes vary and may be chosen depending upon photographic, historic, or wildlife interests.  Overnight trips give the weekend adventurer an opportunity to experience Idaho's famous White Cloud Mountains.  There should be ample time to explore with your camera or fishing rod while the guides make camp for the evening.

St. Joe River Cruise

Operated by Lake Coeur d’Alene Cruises, the St, Joe River Cruise travels the length of Lake Coeur d’Alene to the noteworthy St. Joe River. The St. Joe River is the world’s highest navigable river and a nationally designated Wild and Scenic River.

This is a great trail to tackle when you're short on time or your new to biking in the Tetons. The straightforward trail makes an easy evening adventure for all riders as it descends through an aspen grove.

Teton Mountain Ranch

If you enjoy being outdoors in a peaceful mountain setting, discovering new things, seeing spectacular views, and learning a bit of history, you'll enjoy a trail ride with Teton Mountain Ranch.  Each ride is individualized for your group, time and needs.  Snacks are provided on the half-day rides and a good lunch on the full-day rides. The Bagley Ranch has been in operation since the late 1800s, when the family raised sheep, hay, grain and potatoes and had a small dairy.

Hop on your bike for a fun, flowing singletrack session on the Eagle's Nest Loop. Enjoy gorgeous mountain views above Cascade on this trail meant for intermediate to advanced riders.

Idaho City Historical Area

Idaho City was founded in December 1862 as the town of “Bannock” (and sometimes “West Bannock”) during the Boise Basin gold rush, the largest gold bonanza since the California gold rush a dozen years earlier. Located near the confluence of Elk and Mores Creeks, the plentiful water supply allowed the town to outgrow the other nearby camps in the basin, including Placerville, Pioneerville, and Centerville.

Wallace and the surrounding area are recognized as the richest silver mining district on earth having produced 1.2 billion ounces since 1884. Hop on the Sierra Silver Mine trolley in downtown Wallace and dig a little deeper into these rich mountains and their storied past.

Elkhorn Golf Club

Originally opened in 1974, Elkhorn Golf Club was created in the last collaboration between father and son Robert Trent Jones Senior and Junior. Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the hilly front nine, while Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed the back nine which follows a creek and has a water hazard on every hole but one.

Challis Golf Course

Located in a scenic wonderland, the Challis Golf Course is one of the longest nine hole courses in Idaho. Located just a few miles from the Salmon River, the natural beauty and spectacular mountain views of the Lost River Range and the peaceful Round Valley are only a part of this challenging golf experience.

This beautiful nine hole golf course is a par 35 nestled in the heart of Boise. Trees line the paths at this public course designed for all golfing levels. Surrounded by mountain views, golfers enjoy well-maintained greens on a naturally rolling terrain that will challenge all aspects of the game.

Located three miles north of Cambridge, Idaho, Mundo Hot Springs is the perfect spot for a leisurely soak. Geothermal water is piped directly from the spring to the pool and spa while the continual flow through design keeps the water fresh and sparkling. Located off of U.S. Hwy. 93 in Hollister, Idaho, Nat-Soo-Pah Resort & RV Park is a terrific destination for the entire Family. Nat-Soo-Pah is an Indian name meaning “Magic Mineral Water.” Shoshone Indians once lived in the nearby foothills and used this spring for baths.  Today, swimming, playing, soaking, picnicking or just relaxing are perfect pastimes.  Tent camping and RV spaces are available.

Bear River Hot Springs

This natural mineral hot springs destination is located just five miles north of Preston, Idaho in the lovely Riverdale Valley. The four pools provide hours of relaxation and fun. A variety of overnight accommodations are available, including hotel rooms, cabins, and RV and tent sites.

Roystone Hot Springs RV & Event Center

Nestled in the Sweet Valley, Roystone Hot Springs RV & Event Center is a great spot for a quick dip or a day of recreation. Splash around in the natural hot springs pool or soak in the large jetted hot tub. The hot springs water comes out of the ground at 140 degrees Fahrenheit and is cooled to 98 degrees for the pool (adjusted for each season) and 104 degrees Fahrenheit for the hot tub.

Silver Creek Plunge

Silver Creek Plunge is located within the Boise National Forest in the Peace Valley. Only two hours from Boise by highway and gravel mountain roads, Silver Creek Plunge is surrounded by mountains, trees, wildlife and Silver Creek, which runs through the center of the campground.

Thousand Springs Resort

This is the only indoor hot spring pool in the Hagerman, ID area. Family and friends will enjoy the kiddy pool, tube slide, diving boards, floating log and basketball hoop. RV spots and camp sites are also available.

Atlanta Area

The mines around Atlanta and the Middle Fork of the Boise River were discovered in 1864 and proved to be quite rich. Mining continued into the late 1930s and today the town still has a small population.

Zims Hot Springs features outdoor pools sourced from natural mineral water fed by an artesian well and cooled by the waters of the Little Salmon River. Located only a few miles outside of New Meadows, ID, the springs are perfectly situated in the spectacularly scenic Meadows Valley.

Located near Land of the Yankee Fork State Park, visitors to Bayhorse ghost town can still see the ovens that were used to make charcoal for the smelter and some buildings along the dirt main street.  There are also many trails nearby to to hike, bike and explore on ATVs or motorbikes.

Custer Historic Mining Town

Custer was founded in early 1879 by gold speculators. Economically supported by the operations of the Lucky Boy and Black mines, Custer reached its peak population of 600 in 1896. By 1910, Custer had become a ghost town.

Chesterfield Historic Town Site

Overlooking the beautiful Portneuf Valley, Chesterfield is a Mormon pioneer town founded in 1880 along the Old Oregon Trail in southeast Idaho. Located between Lava Hot Springs and Soda Springs, Chesterfield is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and provides a rare and unique glimpse into Idaho history.
