25 miles north of Idaho City off Highway 21, the Beaver Creek Summit trail is designed especially for backcountry Nordic skiing and snowshoeing. At over 6,500 feet, it offers a 360 degree view of the Boise National Forest that includes Pilots Peak, Wilson Butte, Sunset Peak, Rock Creek, and Scott Mountain.

Park N' Ski permits are required and available through Idaho Parks and Recreation.
Ungroomed in the winter and follows an old road for 1.3 miles and then turns to a single track trail the last .2 miles.
The trail is rated more difficult under good snow conditions.
There are four short, steep sections requiring advanced backcountry skiing techniques.
