The Bustling Boise Basque Block

Historically, the Boise Basque Block earned its name from the abundance of Basque boarding houses that once lined the street. Originating from an area in the Pyrenees Mountains between Spain and France, the Basque people immigrated to the western United States during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
