Tour the many important and sacred sites that make up the Nez Perce National Historical Park, which celebrates the Nimi’ipuu, who have hunted, fished, and lived on these lands for thousands of years. Moscow, home of the University of Idaho, is a vibrant small city with a farmers market, as well as outdoor music and theatre performances. Lewiston, with nearby Lewis-Clark State College, has a charming downtown and wineries that will surprise and delight wine lovers everywhere. North Central Idaho is perfect for bike rides while the ultra-adventurous can navigate the Salmon, Snake and Clearwater rivers by jet boat or raft. Riggins, a well-known fishing and rafting destination, is about two hours south of Lewiston on Highway 95. In colder months, three ski areas provide winter fun: Bald Mountain, Cottonwood Butte and Snowhaven.
