Gem County Historical Society and Museum

The Gem County Historical Society and Museum is a five-building complex dedicated to the collection, preservation and interpretation of Gem County History. The lives of the Native Americans who first inhabited the land, the contributions of the trappers, miners and settlers who made the irrigation system and the fruit industry possible are chronicled through a large collection of photographs as well as full-sized period displays of a general store, a turn-of-the-century parlor and a one-room schoolhouse.

Kamiah Historical Society Museum

The Kamiah Valley Museum features exhibits on local farming implements used from the late 1800’s to the 1950’s, instruments used by the first doctor and dentist in the area, and crafts made by early Nez Perce tribal members.

Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge

Just seven miles south of Montpelier, the Bear Lake National Wildlife Refuge encompasses 18,000 acres of cattail marsh, open water, and flooded meadows. Other portions of the area include scattered grasslands and brush-covered mountain slopes, all ideal habitat for various wildlife and waterfowl.

Sidewinder Trail

Challenge yourself on this singletrack switchback trail with amazing views of Swan Valley at the top of the 800 foot climb.  It’s not too steep, but it is a continuous climb to the top. The trail is well maintained and is off limits to motorized vehicles.

Sawtooth Mountains

The Sawtooth Range is a mountain range of the Rocky Mountains in central Idaho reaching a maximum elevation of 10,751 feet at the summit of Thompson Peak. It encompasses an area of 678 square miles. There are 57 peaks with an elevation over 10,000 feet in the Sawtooth Range, all between 10,000 to 10,751 feet in elevation.

Little Pine Trailhead

A gentle, family-friendly ride that offers over 10 miles of scenic riding in the Teton Valley. This ride can be combined with Corral Creek and Red Creek to make the perfect loop.

South Fork Horseshoe to Mahogany Trailhead

Enjoy a 10 mile trail that climbs 1,600 feet and drops over 1,800 feet at the mouth of Mahogany Creek Canyon in the Teton Valley. A ride on this trail means numerous stream crossings, big climbs, and a few hike-a-bike sections.

Channel Lock Trailhead

This singletrack adventure winds through open sagebrush and aspen groves in the Teton Valley. The Channel Lock trailhead offers great access to the larger trail system known as the Horseshoe trail.

Roosevelt Grove Of Ancient Cedars And Granite Falls

The grandeur of 800-2,000+ year old living cedar trees awaits you at the Roosevelt Grove of Ancient Cedars located 13 miles north of Nordman on Forest Road 302 (an extension of State Highway 57). The trees in this virgin forest are up to 12 feet in diameter and 150 feet tall.

Teton Valley's primary "after-work fun zone" is located about 10 minutes west of downtown Driggs in Horseshoe Canyon. These fun and flowing singletrack trails are well-maintained, well-ridden, and not to be missed.

The City Creek Management Area Trail System contains approximately 50 miles of exceptional riding trails within the Pocatello city limits. The main City Creek Trail gains almost 1,000 feet in elevation from the Grant Street parking lot to the last connection with City Creek Road.

Weiser River Trail

Starting in Weiser, this 84-mile long trail passes through the towns of Midvale, Cambridge and Council with views ranging from rolling hills and forests to open canyons topped with black lava cliffs. The trail includes many miles of riparian habitat, an additional 1,400 acres of wildlife habitat and access to public lands.

Victor to Driggs Rail-Trail

Enjoy non-stop stunning views of the Teton Mountain Range on the Victor to Driggs Rail-Trail, which starts in Victor and stretches 104 miles to West Yellowstone in Montana. This adventure will take you through gorgeous wooded areas, rolling Idaho farmland and incredible mountain views. The trail follows the historic Oregon Short Line route to Ashton then hugs the Warm River on its way to West Yellowstone.
